The Directorate-General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes of Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC) is participating again this year in the EAA Annual Meeting<\/a> to be held in Budapest from 31 August to 3 September 2022 and invites proposals for participation by 10 February 2022.<\/p>\n

Session #275<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In the framework of the Theme 1. Archaeologists and Archeology Here and Now<\/em> we welcome proposals for SESSION #275 THE ROLE OF ARCHAEOLOGY (AND ARCHAEOLOGISTS) IN THE COVID-19 RECOVERY PLANS ACROSS EUROPE AND BEYOND<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is now time to get to work, to make Europe greener, more digital and more resilient\u201d: that is the key message taken from the Statement by the EU Commission President on the finalisation of national recovery plans under Next Generation EU.<\/em><\/p>\n

The wide-ranging impacts of the pandemic crisis has affected all aspects of life, including the heritage world and archaeology: from research to conservation and protection, from outreach to training and education.<\/em><\/p>\n

This session aims to be a moment of reflection about the role of archaeology – and archaeologists – within the national plans for recovery and resilience, looking not only at the European Union, but also other European countries, and outside Europe.<\/em><\/p>\n

It will also be an opportunity to highlight the cases where archaeology has been forgotten, discussing possible reasons for this absence.<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition, it will explore the expected impacts on the archaeological world from the implementation of these exceptional funding programs, and how archaeology can widen its horizons to help contribute to making our societies fairer, more sustainable and more resilient.<\/em><\/p>\n

EAA Budapest 2022_Session 275 call for papers<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Session #346<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In the framework of the Theme 4\u00a0Polis, Empire, League and Beyond \u2013 Living in Interconnected Societies<\/em> we welcome proposals for #SESSION #<\/strong>346 BRINGING ROMAN COARSE WARE TO THE POINT: THE CHALLENGE OF A COMMON APPROACH <\/strong>togheter with University of Cassino and Southern Lazio<\/a> and Archeological German Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The enormous informative potential of coarse ware\u00a0for the reconstruction of socio-economic changes makes them among the most interesting indicators in excavation contexts of all regional and temporal horizons.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

However, they still represent a c\u200bhallenge in some respects, especially due to the preponderance of local production, which is prevalent in the contexts.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The new technologies and the approach to collaborative work impose a reflection and sharing of good practices, guiding principles, lexicons, structures. <\/em><\/p>\n

The aim of this session is to create a moment of dialogue, in which the traditional typological approach to the study of common ceramics can find a synthesis with modern AI technologies and with the new frontiers opened by Social Network Analysis.<\/em><\/p>\n

EAA Budapest 2022_Session 346 call for papers<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Information<\/strong><\/h4>\n

One person may submit two contributions as a main (i.e., presenting and contact) author.<\/p>\n

Contribution may have up to 10 co-authors (incl. main author).<\/p>\n

The title may have max. 20 words and abstract min. 150 words and max. 300 words.<\/p>\n

There is no limit of contributions you will co-author but we cannot guarantee they will not overlap in the programme.<\/p>\n

The deadline for submitting and modifying an abstract is 10 February 2022, 23:59 CET<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
