Preventive conservation in photographic archives

The Directorate General for Education and Research, in collaboration with the Central Institute for Cataloging and Documentation, is organizing the training course "Preventive conservation in photographic archives", which will take place in Rome, at the ICCD headquarters, on 27-30 November 2017.

The aim of the course is training on the correct methods of preventive conservation in photographic archives, for the recognition of deterioration, handling, environmental monitoring, reading of microclimatic parameters.

There are 24 places available, 12 of which are reserved for MiBACT officials with roles of responsibility in the management of photographic archives and for MiBACT operators involved in conservation and who are in possession of an application to participate previously authorized by the Director with explicit certification of the relevance of the course to the tasks assigned in the context of office activities, and 12 intended for personnel of public bodies and/or collaborators who have certified skills and roles of responsibility with respect to the topics dealt with.

Applications must be sent from 9 November 2017 and no later than 13 November 2017.
