On 17 October, from 16.00 to 18.30, the appointments of the Conversazioni d'Arte program will contiue on Slash Radio Web. The new cycle entitled Sentimental Archaeologies. Stories of extraordinary lives and passions will tell the story of important archaeological finds and the tenacious stubbornness of their discoverers.

The second episode, Treasures from Prehistory will be dedicated to two places that hide very ancient treasures of Italian history: the "Balzi Rossi" Caves in Liguria and the Deer Cave in Porto Badisco in Puglia.

The episode will be opened by Luisa Bartolucci, director of SlashRadio Web and Elisabetta Borgia, official of the General Directorate for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes (DGERIC), Service I Studies Office – MiC.

The broadcast will expolore two figures who, thanks to their passion for prehistory and for those places in particular, made a great contribution to the research: Sir. Thomas Hanbury, Londoner by birth and Italian by adoption, who promoted the construction of the first Prehistoric Museum of the "Balzi Rossi" and Paolo Graziosi, a renowned archaeologist and explorer, an attentive scholar and far-sighted photographer. An audio-portrait of both characters will be offered by Serena Nicolì, trainee at the General Directorate for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes, Service I Studies Office – MiC.

The first part of the episode is dedicated to Ventimiglia, on the Ligurian coast, where Antonella Traverso, Director of the "Balzi Rossi" Prehistoric Museum and Valentina Fiore, Head of Educational Services of the Liguria National Museums Regional Directorate, will tell of ancient depictions of animals on the walls of one of the caves of the "Balzi Rossi" prehistoric complex and a group of precious female representations, the so-called "prehistoric Venuses".

In the second part, Salento will be the protagonist, in particular the Deer Cavei in Porto Badisco which will be discussed by Serena Strafella, archaeological officer of the Superintendence of Archaeology. Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Brindisi and Lecce, Ida Tiberi, archaeologist collaborating at the same Superintendence and Giorgia Aprile, archaeologist collaborating at the National Superintendence for Underwater Cultural Heritage. The scholars will illustrate the discovery of the "Sistine Chapel of Prehistory", its cave paintings, its history and the ways in which today it is possible to visit an inaccessible site.

This will be followed by the column The profession of the archaeologist, to deepen what this profession really consists of, out of cinematographic clichés.

It will be the turn of Salvatore Taurino, archaeological officer at the MArTA-National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, who will tell the journey of the finds from the excavation to the showcases. Andrea Arcieri, official and art historian at the General Directorate for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes, on the other hand, will delve into the history of the Giustiniani Collections, which has undergone various vicissitudes.

The story of Poseidon of Capo Artemisio will be the protagonist of the second of the Tactile Tales of Eternal Masterpieces of the Omero State Tactile Museum in Ancona, curated by Alessia Varricchio in collaboration with Aurora Alberti, a volunteer of the Universal Civil Service.
