Parks and gardens: between history and literature

The first episode of the new cycle will highlight the profound connections between places, heritage and literature.

The first contribution will cover issues related to landscape protection with particular attention to the evocative pine forest of Ravenna, a protected natural heritage since 1905. This will be followed by the reading of an excerpt from the Decameron by Boccaccio, who will also offer the opportunity to talk about a work attributed to Botticelli.

The broadcast will continue with a further contribution dedicated to the Sacred Wood of Bomarzo, a singular place desired by Prince Vicino Orsini, whose 500th birth anniversary falls this year.

A focus on accessibility will follow with the presentation of the Talking Italy project, an initiative that aims to make art and culture accessible to people with visual impairments through audio descriptions available online or directly in the places concerned.

The episode will end with the new column Accessibility and landscape: a possible combination, edited by the Omero Statale Tactile Museum of Ancona, which will see the participation of invited guests to talk about specific projects cultural.
