Museum Courses II WORKSHOP | Getting Oriented: “Care and Management of Parks and Historical Gardens”

As part of the educational series Museum Courses II, the School of Cultural Heritage and Activities Foundation, in collaboration with the Directorate General for Education, Research, and Cultural Institutes and the Directorate General for Museumss, are promoting a multimedia course dedicated to the care and management of parks and historical gardens.

The course will address the following topics:

  • general and introductory overview of the management and care of parks and historical gardens;
  • maintenance actions for conservation, renovation, refurbishment of the garden’s elements, spaces, and plant architecture;
  • regulatory framework;
  • policies to raise awareness about the care of historical green spaces (guidelines, best practices, and methods of action for restoration, refurbishing, and ex-novo design);
  • operation and maintenance plan;
  • promotion and communications.

Target audience

Ministry of Culture's staff performing activities related to the topics discussed.

The course is also open to anyone interested, from 31 October 2022, on the e-learning platform of the School of Cultural Heritage and Activities Foundation fad.fondazionescuolapatrimonio.it. In this case, the certificate will be issued by the Foundation.

Enrolment and use

Enrolment, only for MiC staff, is open from 4 to 18 October 2022 on the Course Portal: https://portalecorsi.beniculturali.it/.

The course will be available on the e-learning platform of the School of Cultural Heritage and Activities Foundation (FAD), on demand, from 31 October 2022 to 9 January 2023.
