Call for applications for National PhD in Heritage Science (PhD-HS)

The University Wisdom of Rome has published the call for applications for admission to the national PhD in Heritage Science (heritage sciences).

On PhD in Heritage Science (PhD-HS) aims to train a new generation of researchers and professionals working in the cultural heritage sector, capable of collaborating and competing in the context of the most prestigious European and international initiatives.

It is divided into 11 interdisciplinary curricula in the field of cultural heritage. The topics of the PhD range from archeology to artificial intelligence, from art history to physics applied to the study of matter, from museology to environmental sciences.

The PhD-HS sees the involvement of Ministry of Culture through the coordination of the Directorate-General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes. The doctorate also includes a period of study and research in companies, public administrations or research centres, including Central and peripheral institutes of the Ministry of Culture from a minimum of six months to a maximum of twelve months.

Are expected 91 places covered by scholarships. Those who, by 31 October 2022, have obtained a master's/specialist degree (or an old system degree) or an equivalent foreign qualification are admitted to the competition.

The doctorate provides for the possibility - for those who are waiting to graduate by 31 October 2022 - to complete the enrollment as soon as the required qualification has been obtained.

Applications to participate in the competition must be presented without fail by 2.00 pm (local time) on the 25 August 2022.
