EAA 2023

Also this year we participate in the annual meeting organized by the EEA - European Association of Archaeologists, which will take place in Belfast (XXIX edition) from 30 August to 2 September 2023.

Education of the past, path of the future” is the title of the contribution that will be presented on 1 September by Drs. Elisabetta Borgia and Caterina Paola Venditti in the session “Heritage goes to school. The importance of archaeological dissemination in education”.

The educational services in places of culture are committed to connecting heritage, schools and communities for a social sustainability oriented towards the themes of dialogue, accessibility and the improvement of everyone's cultural achievement. In this context, the archaeological heritage plays a fundamental role, being the physical testimony of the strong "history-places-people" network.

The most recent artificial intelligence (AI) revolution and its massive spread in the humanities is about to revolutionize the way we teach and learn, making education more accessible and personalized, changing the approach to research and the study of antiquities, offering previously unavailable insights.

The update requires rethinking and reviewing educational issues, encouraging critical and ethical reflection, which concerns all stakeholders, from the Government to the communities, passing through schools, teachers and citizens, exchanging opinions and goals.

Starting from the experiences achieved and looking to future results, the Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Culture presents the multifaceted panorama of educational projects involving archeology and young people.
