Description of the event

The volume

The volume returns the proceedings of two study days in October 2022, on the occasion of which the results of the research Ereditare il presente were presented, the result of the collaboration between the Direzione generale Creatività Contemporanea and the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali. The book traces the history of the Census of Italian architecture from 1945 to today and collects the contributions of scholars and experts in the sector and a significant photographic apparatus. The publication is enriched by a large collection of useful tools for the knowledge, the protection, the enhancement and education for the conservation of modern and contemporary architecture.

The project Inheriting the present

The phases of the project, of which the presentation of the volume is the last event:

• the projectbegins in 2020, starting from theupdate of the platform Census of Italian architecture from 1945 to today
• follows the mapping of Italian architecture carried out in collaboration with the peripheral structures of the MiC, local authorities, universities and different specialist research centers
• the 2022 study days collect the results of the research and reflect on the quality and value of modern and contemporary Italian architecture
• in February 2023 the new look of the Census platform was presented
