The Centre for Educational Services (SED) of the Service I-Research Office of the former General Directorate for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes participates in the final day of the 77th World Assembly and International Conference of the World Organization for Preschool Education – OMEP on early childhood care and education, in Bologna on 18 July 2025.
The 2025 event, entitled Arts and Culture in Early Childhood Education: Play, Expression,Participation , involves numerous national, local and national and international institutions operating in the social, educational and cultural fields. The World Assembly and the annual OMEP International Conference represent a moment of meeting between members, partners and stakeholders working in the field of early childhood with the aim of promoting children's rights in education, to disseminate new knowledge from research and to discuss and share ideas and information.
In a global context of increasing complexity, the theme of the 2025 initiative emphasizes the importance of arts and cultures in early childhood. These elements not only enrich the educational experience, but also strengthen the identity, sense of belonging and expressive skills of children. Access to art and culture is not only a human right, but a core value, enabling children to explore, discover and shape their world in a creative, participatory and joyful way.
Specifically, the Center for Educational Services will intervene, on July 18, with an institutional greeting at the conclusion of the International Conference, scheduled at 16:00, at the Savoia Hotel Regency, and in the session promoted by the Alleanza Reti Comunità Educanti (ARCE), at 6:00 pm, at the Archiginnasio Municipal Library. The themes of the intervention, Growing with cultural heritage, will be aimed at promoting the commitment of the Ministry of Culture to heritage education and in support of its relevance within the paths of growth and cultural development, with particular reference to activities aimed at children (0-8 years).
