Description of the event

It opens on March 2023 at the Central Institute for Graphics (ICG) the exhibition "Immediati Dintorni", curated by Michela Becchis and Gabriella Bocconi and dedicated to the engravings by Maria Pina Bentivenga and Mei Chen Tseng.

The exhibition, created thanks to a memorandum of understanding between the Central Institute for Graphics and the Taipei Representative Office in Italy - Cultural Division, aims to carry on cooperation and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Italy, comparing two artists whose chosen technique is engraving.

The two artists concentrate their research on the meaning of the landscape, a landscape which, despite apparently distant cultures and different engraving techniques, seems to weave a multiplicity of ideas and creations that determine a common feeling.

The exhibition itinerary shows 30 graphic works and a section dedicated to artists' books conceived in dialogue with the poetic texts of Leonardo Sinisgalli, Reiner Maria Rilke, Dante and the Taiwanese philosopher Peter Mau-hsiu Yang.
