Now in its third edition, the Festival Culturale dei Borghi rurali della Laga will involve four regions of Central Italy, Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria , and five provinces: Ascoli Piceno, L'Aquila, Perugia, Rieti and Teramo. Eighteen promoting municipalities together with the FederTrek Escursionismo e Ambiente and the Coordinamento Territoriale delle Comunità della Laga. The event is sponsored by the Ministero della Cultura, by the Italian Geographical Society and by the Ente Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga.
Three inaugural events are scheduled:
- April 13th in Teramo at the headquarters of Camera di Commercio del Gran Sasso d’Italia(program)
- April 16th at Villa Pigna di Folignano (Ap) at the PalaRozzi (programme)
- 23 April in Rome at the Società Geografica Italiana in Palazzetto Mattei in Villa Celimontana (programma)
The exhibition, extended over a period of nine months, will offer 57 itinerant events which will take place in the 66 rural villages participating in the initiative, enhancing their beauty and resilience, also in relation to the seismic events of 2016.
The theme of the 2024 edition is the challenges for a new Apennines for the communities of the Laga, as an opportunity to reflect on the future, the objectives, the opportunities of rural tourism. The novelty of the Fuori Festival is on the programme: a walking route which, crossing the main national parks of central Italy, aims to rebuild a relationship of dialogue and reciprocity between the resident communities and Park Authorities.
The Direzione generale Educazione, ricerca e istituti culturali participates with the Sed – Centro dei servizi educativi in the presentation on 23 April.
