International Training Projects is a project promoting international cultural exchange through the offering of training activities (training courses and internships) designed and carried out by some MiBACT institutes, supported by the disbursement of scholarships and aimed at foreign learners already active in the field of cultural heritage, restoration and conservation, performance art, and music (the funding recipient in the latter two areas is the Directorate General of Performing Arts, with implementing entities the Piccolo Teatro and La Scala Academy in Milan).
Structure of the Project
The project is divided into two areas: Cultural heritage and Cultural activities.
Cultural Heritage
The area of Cultural heritage includes Conservation and restoration, Knowledge of cultural heritage, Safeguarding of cultural heritage.
The most notable educational offering is in Conservation and restoration, with courses provided by the Institute of Conservation and Restoration and the Opificio delle Pietre Dure. The courses, which can be replicated upon request, are structured into modules lasting from one to eight weeks and have cross-curricular content (basic knowledge in preventive conservation and methodology for risk assessment/mapping of cultural heritage) or technical/specialist content in the restoration of various types of cultural heritage. The number of participants ranges from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 10
For the Knowledge of cultural heritage category, courses are provided by the Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation and the Central Institute for Graphics.
The Safeguarding of cultural heritage area offers courses run by the Carabinieri Command of Protection of Cultural Heritage.
Cultural Activities
The Cultural Activities category is divided into two areas: Performance Art and Music.
The training offering for Performance Art refers to the Piccolo Teatro in Milan as implementing entity, while for Music, the offer is part of the training activities performed at La Scala Academy in Milan.
