The University Sapienza di Roma has published the call for applications for admission to the research doctorate of national interest in Heritage Sciences.
The Doctorate in Heritage Science (PhD-HS) aims to train a new generation of researchers and professionals working in the cultural heritage sector, capable of collaborating and competing in the contexts of the most prestigious European initiatives and international.
The academic path is divided into 11 interdisciplinary curricula: from archeology to artificial intelligence, from art history to physics applied to the study of matter, from museology to environmental sciences.
The PhD-HS sees the involvement of the Ministry of Culture through the coordination of the Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes. The doctorate also includes a period of study and research in companies, public administrations or research centres, including the MiC central and peripheral institutes from a minimum of six to a maximum of twelve months.
There are 85 places covered by scholarships: the ICR - Istituto Centrale per il Restauro funds three in the field of advanced and innovative materials for conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
Those who, by 31 October 2023, have obtained a master's/specialist degree (or an old system degree) or an equivalent foreign qualification are admitted to the competition. The doctorate provides the possibility, for those who are waiting to graduate by 31 October 2023, to complete the enrollment as soon as the required qualification has been obtained.
Applications to participate in the competition must be submitted by 2.00 pm (local time) on 20 July 2023.
