CULTURAL HERITAGE PROFESSIONALS

To become a restorer of cultural heritage it is necessary to attend one of the following qualifying courses for the profession at the Accredited institutes:

  • Schools of Higher Education and study of the MiC at the Central Institute for Restoration, Central Institute for Pathology of Archives and Books, Opificio delle pietre dure
  • Bachelor's degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (LMR/02)
  • II level academic diploma in restoration (DASLQ01)

To become a technician of the restoration of cultural heritage it is necessary to attend a professional training course provided by authorities accredited by the Regions lasting three years for a total of 2700 hours. The national lists of cultural heritage professionals – physical anthropologist, archaeologist, archivist, librarian, demo-ethnoanthropologist, expert in diagnostics and science and technology applied to cultural heritage, restorer of cultural heritage, art historian and technician of the restoration of cultural heritage – can be consulted on the Portal of Professionals https://professionisti.cultura.gov.it/
