Museum Courses II WORKSHOP | Experimenting: “Museums and Accessibility”

The School of Cultural Heritage and Activities Foundation, the Directorate General for Museums and the Directorate General for Education, Research, and Cultural Institutes, as part of the educational series Museum Courses II WORKSHOP | Experimenting, are organizing and promoting the educational course “Museums and Accessibility – Nothing for us without us”, developed as an outcome of the workshop "Museum Professions and the Challenge of Accessibility", held in L’Aquila last 9 and 10 June.
The course consists of 22 teaching units including live streaming, webinars, video-lessons, and additional digital elements.

The main objectives of the educational course include:

  • increasing knowledge and skills in accessibility in museum settings
  • communicating in an accessible and inclusive way
  • designing an operational strategy in a systematic way
  • assessing a museum’s degree of accessibility

Target audience

The course is intended for MiC directors and personnel of the second and third area of the Institutes in question, involved in activities related to the topics covered by the teaching units.

The identification of other professionals working in Italian museums is taken care of by the Regions and/or territorial entities to which they belong, with the help of networks and associations of reference for museums that have already completed the process of joining the National Museum System.
