Course description
As part of the Tools and methods for the knowledge, protection and enhancement of contemporary architecture project, the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity and the Fondazione Scuola of cultural heritage and activities, in collaboration with the Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes and in agreement with the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators (CNAPPC), organize the course Inheriting the present: the care of contemporary architecture.
The aim of the training activity is to provide a current and updated cognitive framework on the state and nature of the protection of contemporary architecture after 1945. regulatory and procedural aspects will also be explored in depth, as well as updating the Census of Italian Architecture from 1945 to today.
The training course is divided into 5 thematic modules including webinars and videos and will take place from 17 October to 15 November 2023 in synchronous (live) and asynchronous (on demand) mode, on the e-learning platform of the School of Cultural Heritage and Activities Foundation (FAD).

- Contemporary architecture in Italy. Protection of cultural heritage and copyright protection (October 24)
- The restoration project between contemporary method and materials: challenges and prospects (October 31)
- Preserved contemporary architecture: designing to use (7 November)
- Conservation and restoration of systems and casings: the conservation of the contemporary and its cultural and energetic sustainability (15 November)
Target audience
The course is aimed at managers and MIC staff of the Officials Area and the Assistants Area engaged in activities related to the contents of the course and is also open to architects from other entities or freelance professionals of the cultural heritagewho carry out activities relating to the topics covered.
Enrolment and use
Registrations are open exclusively on the MiC Courses Portal, according to the following timescales:
- from 19 September to 4 October 2023, for MiC staff
- from September 19 until October 11, 2023, for users outside of the Ministry. Users are advised to indicate the professional association they belong to in the "Notes" space in order to be able to communicate to the CNAPPC those entitled to the release of professional training credits.
Access to the authorization procedure by the Director on the Course Portal for MiC staff is possible until 11 October 2023.
The webinars will be available on the e-learning platform of the Fondazione Scuola dei Beni e delle Scienze Culturali (FAD) live, starting from 17 October 2023.
For those additionally registered and authorized on the Course Portal, the contents will be available on the e-learning platform on demand from 17 October 2023 according to the calendar in the table included in the circular.
