Each year, the Directorate General for Education, Research, and Cultural Institutes prepares the National Plan for Cultural Heritage Education, on the recommendation of the Higher Council for cultural and natural heritage.
The Plan is a policy document that promotes the knowledge of heritage and its educational role, determining guidelines, objectives, and areas of action.
The Directorate, through the actions of the Centre for Educational Services (SED), is in charge of the performance, review, and assessment of the planned actions.
The Plan is implemented in part through networks, agreements, partnerships, and conventions, both within the Ministry and in other public and private environments.
In addition to the actions coordinated by the Directorate General itself, the Plan aims to bring “local” planning into a framework of reference, so that individual initiatives can be part of a broader system, which they directly contribute to creating.
