GEP2022 – The European Heritage Days are back on 24 and 25 September

On 24 and 25 September 2022 the awaited appointment with the European Heritage Days, an initiative promoted by European Council and from European Commission.
Many participate in the event places of culture such as museums, galleries, archaeological areas and parks, monumental complexes, libraries and archives with guided tours, extraordinary openings, digital initiatives, events.

On theme of the days for the 2022 edition is the Sustainable cultural heritage as a legacy for future generations. The purpose of the event is to make all citizens appreciate and get to know the cultural heritage and to stimulate active participation with a view to its preservation and transmission to the new generations.

ICP extension

The exhibition entitled "Paper flights", by theCentral Institute for the Pathology of Archives and Books, where the kites will be exhibited Anna Onesti he has also created in collaboration with other artists: Francesco Casorati, Bruno Ceccobelli, Adele Cammarata, Virginia Lorenzetti. The construction of these flying forms is based on traditional Japanese typologies such as: the square kite (hamamatsu), the lozenge kite (tosa), the rectangular kite (edo), the hexagonal kite (rokkaku).
Some are also on display photo of flying kites of the Roman kite group Greko Kite made by Fabio Massimo Fioravanti.
For both days it will be possible to enjoy guided tours dedicated to the historian garden of the seat in Via Milano.

During the days, the following events are scheduled by the Central Institute for Graphics:

  • Paper marbles. The printed catalog of Antonio Canova's sculptures between entrepreneurship and cultural promotion" meeting with George Marini on the printed reproduction of the works created by the master as a complementary methodological tool in the process of translating form into idea;
  • The sustainable use of the chalcographic matrix: from copy to replica” meeting and practical execution of chalcographic techniques by Matteo Maria Borsoi;
  • Two artists, an island and the network of graphic signs. Anna Marongiu Pernis and Maria Lai​” meeting with Maura Picciau, director of the Central Institute for Graphics;
  • Comparison of collections: photography and graphics” meeting with Maria Francesca Bonetti and Luca Somma It will be in which a selection of historical and contemporary photographic works will be presented to the public compared with other masterpieces conserved in the collections of the Central Institute for Graphics, including some photographs by Luigi Ghirri, master of twentieth-century Italian photography;
  • Intaglio engraving: from traditional techniques to sustainable engraving” meeting and practical execution by Fabio Ascenzi on traditional chalcographic engraving techniques.

HARD STONES WORKSHOP

For the GEP 2022, the Opificio offers the opportunity to visit its laboratories in the company of restorers for the whole day of Saturday 24 September.
