The updated Guide to cultural heritage professions is online

The second edition of the is published Guide to the professions of cultural heritage identified by art. 9 bis of the Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code.

The guide concerns only the professions present in the Code of cultural heritage and landscape in article 9bis:

  • Physical anthropologist
  • Archaeologist
  • Archivist
  • Librarian
  • Demoethnoanthropologist
  • Expert in diagnostics and science and technology applied to cultural heritage
  • Art historian
  • Restorer of Cultural Heritage
  • Restoration Technician of Cultural Heritage

The new edition, drawn up in July 2021, is updated with some innovations in particular relating to the dedicated portal Cultural heritage professionals.

In fact, during 2021, the portal was updated with the inclusion of the searchable list of restorers of cultural heritage and restoration technicians and with a new section dedicated to the recognition of foreign qualifications in the field of restoration.

It is a useful tool both for those looking for information on the cultural heritage professions and on the national lists of professionals competent to carry out interventions on cultural heritage, and for the professionals themselves who can find useful information, links to insights and legislation.

The Guide was produced as part of the 2021 project to improve the quality of services provided to users by the Ministry of Culture - Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes, Service I - Studies Office.
