Evento Guido Strazza

The Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes presents the volume Guido Strazza. General catalog of the engraved work 1953-2018 on the occasion of the artist's 100th birthday.

The event, dedicated to the great master of engraving, will take place on 21 December 2022 from 11.00 in Rome at the Library of the Central Institute for Archives and Book Pathology.

The aim of the initiative is to pay homage to the career and work of Guido Strazza, presenting the complete catalog of his engraved work, in the presence of the artist himself. The catalog documents all of Maestro Strazza's engraved work in 65 years of activity and traces the artistic, professional and personal events of the artist. The volume, edited by Giuseppe Appella and published by Allemandi, was published in May 2020 thanks to the contribution of the Ministry of Culture.

The presentation of this important volume is also an opportunity to thank the artist for the generous donation of works to the Ministry of Culture and for the didactic activity that Guido Strazza carried out for years at the Calcografia Nazionale, which later merged into the Central Institute for Graphics.

After the institutional greetings of the Director General Mario Turetta, of the director of the Central Institute for graphics Maura Picciau and of the director of the Central Institute for the pathology of archives and books Aurora Raniolo, intervene:

  • Barbara Jatta – Vatican museums
  • Gianluca Murasecchi – Academy of Fine Arts in Rome
