The “Resilient cultural heritage in times of climate crisis” workshop, organised by Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz(Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation) in Berlin between April 16 -17 2024 . The event, hosted at the Kulturforum, is organised under the framework of Horizon Europe project ARCHE (Alliance for Research on Cultural Heritage in Europe) and aims at reuniting German researchers, practitioners, decision- and policy-makers in cultural heritage and/or working at the intersection between cultural heritage and climate change in a series of exchanges that would act twofold: highlight the impact of climate change on cultural heritage, but also showcase the active role cultural heritage can play in addressing this crisis and what possible connections between various types of stakeholders can be fostered.
The event is part of a string of thematic workshops that aim at finetuning ARCHE’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), a roadmap currently in the drafting phase and which would guide future transnational calls for projects and coordinate policies in cultural heritage research and innovation. In addition, considering the fact that ARCHE aims at paving the way for a future European Partnership on Cultural Heritage, this also presents itself as an opportunity of strengthening the connections between the German stakeholders themselves and from other countries.
