Festival Culturale dei Borghi rurali della Laga

The General Directorate for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes participates in the final day of the Cultural Festival of the Rural Villages of the Laga 2024 which will take place on December 14 at the Auditorium della Laga in Amatrice (RI).

The Cultural Festival of the Rural Villages of the Laga involves four regions of Central Italy, Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria, and five provinces: Ascoli Piceno, L'Aquila, Perugia, Rieti and Teramo. Eighteen municipalities promoted together with the FederTrek Hiking and Environment Association and the Territorial Coordination of the Laga Communities. The initiative is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the Italian Geographical Society and the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park Authority.

The last day of the festival

In the morning, after the institutional greetings, the role of communities as an engine for building a balance between urban and rural areas will be explored and a video will be screened that will retrace the most significant moments of this edition of the Festival, with a consequent analysis of the results achieved.

This will be followed by a speech by our General Directorate and that of the mayors and sponsoring partners of the initiative, to offer an institutional vision starting from the importance of protecting the cultural and social heritage of inland areas.

At 12:00 there will be the award ceremony of the Laga Communities, a symbolic but significant recognition for their extraordinary commitment to active citizenship.

Finally, in the afternoon there will be a meeting with the regional representatives of Slow Food Lazio, Marche and Abruzzo focused on the future prospects of traditional and sustainable cuisine.
