The Cultural Heritage Professionals platform is active, aimed at both the formation and consultation of directories of physical anthropologists, archaeologists, archivists, librarians, demographic and ethnographic anthropologists, experts in diagnostics and science and technology applied to cultural heritage, art historians, and the regulated professions of Restorer of Cultural Heritage and Restoration Technician of Cultural Heritage.
On 29 May 2019, the ministerial decree D.M. 244 dated 20 May_2019 was published on the Gazzetta Ufficiale General Series n.124
Regulations concerning the procedure for the formation of national directories of archaeologists, archivists, librarians, demographic and ethnographic anthropologists, physical anthropologists, experts in diagnostics and science and technology applied to cultural heritage, and art historians, in possession of the requirements identified pursuant to Law 22 July 2014, n. 110 (Amendments to the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape, referred to in the Legislative Decree n. 42 del 2004, regarding cultural heritage professionals, and the establishment of national directories of said professionals).
With the Circular n. 25 dated 4 September 2019, the Directorate General for Education and Research posted permanent calls for the following professional profiles:
- 1. call for physical anthropologist profile
- 2. call for archaeologist profile
- 3. call for archivist profile
- 4. call for librarian profile
- 5. call for demographic and ethnographic anthropologist profile
- 6. call for expert in diagnostics and science and technology applied to cultural heritage profile
- 7. call for art historian profile
Each professional profile is structured in three groups, I, II and III, corresponding to European qualification levels EQF 8, 7 and 6.
It should be noted that these directories are not professional registers, and failure to register on them does not in any way preclude one from practicing the profession.
